PAT Portable Appliance Testing
Each business has a legal requirement to test any electrical device with a flex. Every computer, kettle, charger, TV, heater, printer and more. Some devices are more susceptible to problems than others, and this could be down to the environment the item is used in. A kettle taken to a different building site each week will have a different testing regime to one in a staff room that is rarely used. We can advise and test any number of devices and provide labels and certificates from our automated test equipment to keep your business safe and legal.
Earthed Electrical can carry out full safety inspections and periodic inspections to ensure your electrical circuits are in peak condition. Because you can’t see much of your wiring, our tests will reveal weak points in the wiring before they cause a failure, or in word case circumstances, fires. We have seen wire eaten by mice and rats that has exposed live wires under floor space, wall cavities and lofts. Inspections are always carried out before we install new consumer units and inspections are a legal requirement for housing landlords.
It’s also a good idea if you you are considering a business move, to get an idea if the electrics in your new building are sufficiently robust to cope with your computers and equipment. We are happy to provide a competitive quote for any inspection work.
